402 - UAT Test Cases for MC
This page is intended primarily for State Agencies who are new to Meal Counter usage, looking to validate that their system has been updated appropriately to integrate with MC. Please note, integration testing is specifically covered in items 1 and 5. The remaining sections cover Meal Counter usage which can be tested by the state, but these test cases are also covered by CTS's QA and Product Management team before every planned release. They are included here because it can be useful for state personnel to run through every step in this list to help become more familiar with the product and its features.
1. Setup from the School Nutrition Technology System (SNTS)
1a. SFSP Module Prerequisite Setup
-
Create a new or choose an existing SFSP sponsor
-
Complete/Ensure an Approved Sponsor SFSP Application packet exists
-
If the Meal Counting Method question is included in the SFSP Site Application, ensure at least one site has selected Meal Counter in that question and that in the IUO section it has been approved.
-
1b. Colyar SNTS Setup
-
Create Sponsor User from Core
-
Check to ensure you received the Confirmation Email from Meal Counter
-
Ensure that you can set PW using the link in the Confirmation email
-
Then logout and log in again (The system automatically logs a user in once a PW is set, but to be extra safe it's best to check this manually)
-
-
Initialize Sponsor Setup from Core with approved site applications
-
Check to make sure approved Sites and their applications are transferred
-
-
Create a new Sponsor User from Meal Counter's Sponsor Manager page
-
The user should appear under the list of Sponsor Users on the Sponsor Manager page and
-
The new user should receive a confirmation email and be able to use it to create an account.

Note: It can be very helpful to utilize a disposable email service for testing, so that a new email account does not have to be created every time. Several free services exist that can be found via a web search. Additionally, using email aliases for testing is supported by Meal Counter (but not state systems). In this way example@email.com and example+1@email.com are seen as discrete email addresses.
1c. Claims Alternative?
Please note, testers can skip ahead to section 5, for SNTS Claims Imports at this point to ensure the full integrated functionalities between Meal Counter and the SNTS are working appropriately. In order to accomplish this, they will need to have historic claim data available in MC UAT or be able to quickly create some meal count data prior to attempting a claim import. See section 5.
